With each season, comes a brand new set of trends to start knowing about and following and for A/W they usually fall on the lines of heavy knits, statement outerwear and darker tonnes...stereotypically speaking. Going by the street style looks from the latest fashion weeks, as well as heavily focusing on the runway shows from designers featuring their A/W collections a few months back we come to terms with what is set to be big when the new season comes around and just how we are going to start dressing.
Wind cheater jackets:
With technical fabric outerwear being a top trend this A/W we are looking at BOSS and CP Company to supply us with the most wearable and on trend pieces. We are all about the khaki BOSS Ovid Jacket which will not only tick the boxes with comfort and design but also promise to last you for many years to come. Another must have piece is the range of Superflex jackets by CP Company; with their breathable inner mesh material and technical outer layer they are the perfect combination between design and technology...something that is quick becoming the talk of the fashion world.
Check patterns seems to never out-date and is something we tend to associate with Autumn and Winter and those colder months that will be vast approaching. Whatever age you are, checked patterns seem to be universal and suit all types of people no matter their age. For something classic we are loving the Ted Baker Stemper trousers which will look amazing paired with a shirt for a night out and with a knitted jumper in order to wear during the day. Then for something a little more modern and creative, Billionaire Boys Club have designed their Cut & Sew check shirt...the perfect statement piece for AW18.
A print that never truly goes away...not that we are complaining. Camouflage is a print that since last A/W has been heading in a much more casual and street-orientated direction which is perfect when we want to start wearing the print every day. For AW18 Camouflage is taking a less stereotypical approach and instead of brands opting for the same khaki tonnes, they are know choosing to showcase the print in monochrome; making it a lot more wearable. Take HUGO BOSS for instance who are giving us all the camo designs we could ever dream of, and in an array of colour schemes.
Utility styling takes on a completely different approach to military styling, and while camouflage print is in trend this A/W as a whole utility is taking over. Think tapered cargo trousers from BOSS, textured block stripes on BOSS shirts and patchwork detail on CP Company jackets. We will be wearing utility pieces all throughout the colder months and even possibly next year for Spring and Summer!
We noticed during fashion week that nearly even man was wearing a beanie and somehow it made an outfit go from 0 to 100 in an instance. From the most simple of beanies from Vivienne Westwood and Y-3 to something a little more out there from CP Company, these beanies promise to transform an outfit without you even having to put in much effort...and boy do we love effortless dressing.
Layering is an obvious trend for A/W and one we can all get on board with. It's easy to incorporate your spring/summer sweaters and tees when layering for autumn and winter while opting for heavier knits and outwear for ultimate warmth. Try pairing your turtleneck jumpers with a shirt over the top and a heavy jacket on top of that.
